A Rose That Is No Longer Just That
Good-bye to half of the two-block street in the Arts District at one time referred to as Rose Avenue. History tells us that at one time there were a field of wild roses located here.

oooWhen asked for directions to the Arts District, many would give Rose as a signifincant landmark. "When you see Rose turn left (or right)," If you see Rose Street you have gone to far." It was one street amongst a litany of early rail and industrial names. Traction Avenue, Industrial, Santa Fe...

The "Savoy" and the under construction "Artisian" have absorbed the one block into their gated community. The one southern block of Rose still remains but currently closed as the "Living on the Edge" units are being constructed.
