Green
For A Day
For just
one day, the triangle parking lot at the Traction Avenue
and 3rd Street intersection transitioned into a vital green space.
Starting
at 6:00 AM on September 21st the design firm of 'office42' organized
several community members and students from Otis College
of Art & Design and SCI-Arc to create the green space, complete
with grass, trees and picnic benches. Over the course of the day,
200 to 300 people stopped by, including a class from the Nishi
Center.
Stephanie Ragle from 'office
42' said " We know the community has a strong desire
for a park, and we saw the potential to make something happen
as part of 'PARKing DayLA'. We hope that we were able to
raise awareness of the need for green space in the area."
